WW Skinny Strawberry Rose Sangria

ww skinny strawberry rose sangria

I’m a big sangria fan. There’s something about the combination of wine + chopped fruit + ice that makes me happy, happy, happy! It’s especially appealing in summer when drinks that are light, refreshing, fruity and fun take center stage.

Imagine my delight when I came upon “A sangria for every season” while flipping through WW The Mediterranean Table Cookbook.

First up was this strawberry rose sangria, which I whipped up and took to dinner at my sister’s house last weekend.

It’s a pretty pink bubbly sangria with tons of fresh strawberries and sweet-tart hits of fresh lemon and Limoncello lemon liqueur.

An easy, peasy recipe perfect for parties, you can mix the main components the night before, then add the seltzer when you’re ready to serve for maximum effervescence.

This light and refreshing sparkling strawberry rose sangria was such a hit, I intend to experiment with different wine and fruit combinations in the coming weeks and months.

Recipe Notes, Additions and Variations

No Limoncello?
This sangria is flavored with limoncello, an Italian liqueur that is made from water, lemon zest, sugar and alcohol. It has an intense sweet, lemon flavor with a smooth, thick syrupy consistency. Sugar-free lemon syrup would make a great alcohol free substitution. An equal amount of brandy or another fruity liquor such as triple sec or creme de cassis would also work as a replacement.

No Berry Flavored Seltzer?
Plain seltzer as well as orange or lemon would be nice.

No Strawberries?
Raspberries, blackberries, watermelon and plums complement the flavor of rose wine nicely.

No Fresh Lemon?
Sliced orange would be nice or skip it.
